Brief Description of Theology
The centerpiece to all Lutheran Theology is good news: God loves us so much that God sent Jesus Christ to rescue us from death. We call God's love for us, "grace," which means that God loves us even when we donıt deserve it. Because God loves us through Jesus Christ, we have eternal peace and a renewed purpose and meaning to life.
Lutherans believe that the Bible teaches us God's law, that is, God's guidance into holy, healthy living. Lutherans believe that the Bible teaches us God's Gospel, that is, Godıs good news of saving love in Jesus Christ. Lutherans believe that the message of the Bible is the most important message in the world.
Lutherans believe that the best description of God uses the ancient language of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God has created us, God saves us from sin and death, and God renews us and gives us power to live with heaven's priorities.
