Since its inception more than 175 years ago, First English Evangelical Lutheran Church has brought the Word of God to the Community of Baltimore in language people can understand.
We have been involved in the life of Baltimore City, serving as host to any number of community groups, including the only polling place in America where two United States Senators vote. We work in cooperation with the Greater Homewood Interfaith Alliance in developing programs for the good of our neighborhood. We cooperate with various organizations providing food and shelter for the needy in our area and help provide assistance for the public schools in our neighborhood.
We offer a Preschool/Kindergarten program for children age 2 through 5 on a two, three, four and five-day basis.
Our Christian Education program for children offers a unique style of coordination among classes where Bible lessons are taught using music, cooking, computer programs, crafts and a variety of other teaching methods.
We offer Education programs for Adults including Bible study, exploration of social issues and Christian literature.
