Handel Children's Choir Spring Concert

June 27, 2010, 2:00 pm
Independence Day Holiday Organ Concert, R. David Huggins, organist with guest artists, Amy Branum Huggins, soprano, and organist, Karen Sturms.
This annual concert features American organ music of the 19th century. Organ music of this period is clearly American, even though rooted in old-world European forms and styles. Characterized by sentimentality, cheerfulness, grandiosity, excitement, exuberance, and a sense of awe and wonder, this music is purely enjoyable. The concert will include the rarely heard, Geschwindmarch für zwei Orgelspieler (Quick March for two organists) by Horatio Parker.
