SUNDAY SCHOOL CONFIRMATION FIRST COMMUNION CHILDREN'S SERMON PRESCHOOL
Children And Youth ~ Sunday School

At baptism, parents commit to raise their children in the Christian faith. As parents oversee their children's secular education in reading, math, etc., similarly Sunday School is an important component for a child's learning about their special relationship with God and the Church. It is in Sunday School where children are first exposed to God's message in a community environment. Though Bible stories and other activities, children learn the foundations of our faith and service to the Church.

We offer a Sunday School program in a unique fashion. We teach Bible Stories in a multi-level way. Each class in the children's Sunday School works with the same Bible story each month. On any given week, one class will develop a craft project connected with the story. Another class will gather at the “story tent” to tell the story and have a discussion about its meaning. Another class will produce art work (either individually or as a group) related to the same story. Another class will visit our computer lab and play a computer game related to the story. (Or, if the story relates to food, the class may have sit around the kitchen table and make food, or eat it.) The next week, the various teachers would teach the same lesson as last week, but the classes would rotate, so that over a period of a month, all of the classes would have studied the same story from four different perspectives and found richer and deeper meanings.

The Sunday School meets in the Fort from 9:30 to 10:30 between services from September to May.

On the second Sunday of the month, we offer a special WORSHIP SERVICE geared to the children in our Sunday School. The service, from 10:15 - 10:40 AM, features children in leadership roles (reading lessons, writing and praying prayers, participating in the children's sermon, etc.) and the music is chosen to appeal to younger kids. Parents and families are encouraged to attend with the students.
