Worship & Christian Education

Sundays

We have worship and Holy Communion each week at 10:00 a.m. The service has a comfortable blend of formal and informal elements.

Sunday School for children and Adult Forum are every Sunday from September through May at 9:00 am.

We offer nursery care for children under 4 years of age.

Thursday

Thursday morning's Bible study is located in the library of the education building (enter on 39th St near the half-circle driveway) and will discuss the differences between the Gospels. Teh study begins at 6:30 am. (Don't worry -- there's coffee!)

The Thursday lunch time Bible study is now at Symphony Manor (4301 Roland Avenue; Baltimore MD 21210) and begins at 12:30pm (lasting for about an hour). Please go to the second floor at the end of the hallway. We will study the Bible passages being featured in the upcoming Sunday services.

Accessibility

There is handicapped access on the Charles Street side of the building by entering the Stieff Room. First English is a Reconciling in Christ congregation and is open to a diversity.

"All are welcome!

You don't have to be a member of this congregation.
You don't have to be a Lutheran.
The gifts of God are free!"

We hear these words each Sunday before we are blessed with Holy Communion. But the sentiment reflects our philosophy as illustrated in our Mission Statement:

To spread the love and teachings of Jesus by reaching out to those in need, welcoming and accepting all people unconditionally, providing a safe space for those who do not know about or who have rejected Christianity, actively caring for each other, encouraging spiritual growth, and providing inspirational and stimulating worship experiences.

We desire to have everyone who comes here experience an encounter with the living and unconditionally loving God.
